Project Spotlight: Hand Distressed Hickory Hardwood Flooring

One reason hardwood flooring is such a fantastic choice is the wide variety of customization options available. For example, a client in Pleasanton really liked the floors our owner, Butch, installed in his own home, but instead of opting for dyed/stained 8” walnut planks, they wanted hickory hardwood flooring. This wasn’t a problem! We worked with the client to create a truly custom look for their entire home (see the photos on Houzz).

Hickory Hardwood Flooring Project Details

This client came to us knowing they wanted hickory wood floors. After seeing Butch’s flooring, they asked us to create a similar look with the alternate species. This hickory hardwood flooring was completely custom-made, so it’s not available from a flooring manufacturer.

In addition to installing 3/4” x 8” hand-distressed character grade hickory planks, the floors were dyed and stained for a custom look. In fact, the dye process was especially detailed because of the color the customer chose. The total square footage of the project was 4500 square feet and it took us 4 weeks to complete.
