Hickory Hardwood Flooring Spotlight: Combining Parquet & Wide Plank Floors

We’ve discussed the benefits of parquet flooring and hickory floors in the past, but want to see them in action? You’re in luck! We’re excited to spotlight one of our projects in Atherton!

This client worked with a designer to select their new floors and ended up choosing a combination of hand distressed parquet wheat-colored hickory hardwood flooring from Lengo dal Dio. Some areas of the home feature 25″ x 25″ hand distressed hickory squares while other spaces showcase hand scraped wide plank hickory wood floors. These two styles are used throughout the entire home except for the bathrooms. See the completed floors on Houzz.

The total square footage of the project was 4,000 square feet and the installation process took us two weeks to complete. Curious how parquet floors are installed? They’re actually glued down over wood or concrete subfloors in whichever pattern you choose.

Why Hickory Floors?

What makes hickory hardwood flooring such a good choice for homeowners? In addition to its color versatility, it’s one of the hardest woods, which means it’s also one of the most durable choices. Hickory wood floors are noted for timeless style as well, making it a good investment for years to come.
