Willow Glen Pizza Factory Project Spotlight
The Willow Glen Pizza Factory told us they wanted flooring that looked like hardwood in addition to being durable, cost-effective, easy to clean and good with heavy traffic. So, instead of installing actual hardwood floors, we used English Oak luxury vinyl tile from IVC US. This flooring is vinyl with a PVC back, making it 100% waterproof (very important for a restaurant). It's also resilient, easy to clean and cost-effective; the durable finish and rich, hardwood look were big selling points as well.
When it came to putting the boards in place, San Jose Hardwood Floors was actually able to complete installation in just a day and a half! Luxury vinyl tile comes in both interlocking and straight/flat sides, both of which can be floating or glued. In this case we chose to glue the 7.5 by 52 inch boards because of the heavy traffic; the combination of interlocking boards with the glue keeps the flooring in place and helps keep gaps from developing between the boards in the future.

Luxury vinyl tile is a cost-effective alternative if you want the look of real wood but actual hardwood flooring just isn't in your budget.
