  • All products are SCS FloorScore Certified and subject to California Section 01350 testing
  • Various LEED® Credits for their Plyboo Standard Flooring, Plyboo Plywood, PlybooStrand, Stiletto, Neopolitan Flooring, Durapalm Flooring & Plywood

Plyboo's Bamboo Flooring

Plyboo offers three main types of flooring:

  1. Flat Grain Bamboo Flooring
  2. Edge Grain Bamboo Flooring
  3. Strand Bamboo Flooring

Flat grain has more of a bamboo look and edge grain appears more like wood grain. As Plyboo explains on their site, "The laminator uses high pressure and varying amount of adhesives to bind the bamboo strips together. If the edges of the bamboo are laminated together, the wider side of the bamboo, the flat grain, will be the face of the board. If the wide side of the bamboo is laminated together, then the edge will be the face of the board, what we call edge grain."

Nearly 15 years ago Plyboo created their strand bamboo flooring: a harder, denser material with a stunning aesthetic quality. Instead of being cut into strips and laminated, strand bamboo flooring is, "shredded, crushed, and mixed with a liquid adhesive. Under heat and high pressure, the mixture is cooked and compressed into lumber that is ultimately milled into flooring." In addition to being strong, strand bamboo flooring is extremely thin.

Plyboo's best sellers include:

  • Plyboo Stiletto Bamboo Flooring - "Stiletto is a 100% bamboo floor made using strand technology. It’s more than 2 times the hardness of red oak. Don’t let Stiletto’s luxuriousness fool you. It’s formaldehyde-free for better indoor air quality."
  • Neopolitan Strand Bamboo Flooring - "People can’t get enough of the zebra striped floor, which explains why it can be found in countless homes, offices and stores. This energetic floor wins fans every year with its excellent resiliency."
  • Havana Strand Bamboo Flooring - "The dark strand floor has garnered the attention of Dwell and Sunset."
